Manhattan Beach, Los Angeles
Project Brief
Built on one of the expansive lots of the Manhattan Beach hill section, this Pacific Ave Residence is a beautiful balance of dual streams of architectural thought. From the street level, aggressive overhangs and a soft pacific northwest pallet successfully combine the contemporary and the timeless.
Through the thoughtful elevation of the property, the house captures sweeping ocean views to the southwest, while seamlessly crafting inward views via a large balcony overlooking the massive outdoor living room, which features a pool, outdoor dining, ceramic studio, and fireplace.
In addition, a reverse, semi-open floor plan leverages massive sky frame windows and a double height atrium featuring a 40 -foot tree to flood the home with light. In its sum, this residence encapsulates the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that has become a hallmark of the California coastal home.
